Kid-Friendly Activities for Rainy or Winter Days

Looking to blow off some steam in Colorado Springs during winter or a rainy day? Here are a few ideas!

PURE BOULDERING

If you’re in Old Colorado City this is the place to go. I have a membership here and try to get there twice a week. Kids bouncing off the walls? Give them some walls to climb!

CITY ROCK

I don’t have as much personal experience here but City Rock is the downtown climbing gym fixture in town.

FOCUS ON THE FAMILY VISITOR CENTER

I know, it doesn’t sound that cool. But these things make it a life saver when the munchkins are cranky and the weather isn’t cooperating: a three story slide (don’t quote me on that, I think it’s three), vintage aircraft connected to secret tunnel, play equipment, cafe (with ice cream), and a variety of other things including a camp-themed room full of soft surfaces and features to climb (without getting hurt) for the toddlers.

CAVE OF THE WINDS

My kids talked about Cave of the Winds for weeks after doing the lantern tour. When the sky doesn’t cooperate, why not try the ground?
